I am so excited to finally hold my first giveaway. This is my way to say thank you to my readers. Like I've said before, I don't write for comments or followers but having both gives me that warm & fuzzy feeling, and encourages me to share more.
Would you like to know what the prize is? I said earlier this month it would be something you've seen featured here.
Ta-da!
The winner of this giveaway will receive a print out of this laundry definition on iron on transfer paper. When I made mine I had a heck of a time ironing it onto the burlap. I thought it was a lost cause and printed another definition. While it was printing I gave it another try and it started to work. So I've had this extra printout waiting around for an excuse to have a giveaway.
So, how do you win? Here's what I've come up with.
- Follow Searching Out Simple - leave a comment telling me that you do. {one entry}
- Leave a comment with an idea/tip for making over this china hutch. {one entry}
- And just for fun leave a comment sharing an April Fool's joke you've been a part of. {one entry}
Good luck! Sharing is caring so tell your friends so they have a chance to win also. ;)
Thanks for visiting!
I follow you :) And yay for a giveaway!
ReplyDeleteAs for your hutch makeover, I suggest doing what my sister in law did with her hutch: http://detailsofalove.blogspot.com/2011/03/im-picker-apparently.html
ReplyDeleteHello! I follow Searching Out Simple. I'm a newbie, and found you because I LOVE your laundry sign! Hope I win!
ReplyDeleteFor April Fools today, I helped a friend convince another friend that she's pregnant again.
ReplyDeleteHutch possibilities: I don't know exactly how you feel about an antiqued look, but I would suggest a white, cream, or pale green or yellow paint with a light stain on top. Because I think the hutch would benefit from some distressing, perhaps a light sanding on edges. Possibly some charming little knobs and handles in a pewter to add to the distressed look a bit.
ReplyDeleteNancy :)
I have no great April Fools jokes, but a good little story.... when I was a little girl, my First Communion date was scheduled for April 1, 1988, and I being only seven, I was convinced that we'd get to church all dressed up and the priest would announce that it was all a joke, no First Communion on April Fools Day! Little did I know about all the orchestration behind such an event, and our school and church would never have done such a thing. I was a bit surprised when it all went down that day!

I just found your blog via the comment you left on mine.
ReplyDeleteLove the laundry sign! If I won it, I may have to give it to my mom because she has the perfect spot for it.
I usually am not one to want to paint furniture, but I think your hutch would look great in white with some colorful scrapbook paper behind the shelves as an accent.
I'm now a follower!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! I am a new follower and excited about your giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog--I love your burlap art! So cute! I'm a new follower!

If I had that hutch, I'd put cute wallpaper/patterned paper in the back (behind the shelves) and paint it a bright, fun color! I'm seeing yellow or robin's egg blue :-)
ReplyDeleteI just followed you. Your hutch would be pretty white washed in lavender cream with small Victorian appliquéd roses. Thanks for your creativity.
ReplyDeleteI follow you!!

Hmmm... I'm not much of a creative person, but I'm thinking that you hutch would look awesome painted blue. Maybe even add some pale yellow color in there somehow.

I've never been in an April Fool's joke but, I did have fun taping the handle of the sink sprayer open. It was sooo awesome to see my slightly grumpy brother get his shirt all wet! lol!!
